CADENCE
Anchored a workshop on strategic thinking and competitive positioning for an executive group as part of a leadership development program. I suggested that a good analogy for competitive advantage is a head of lettuce, i.e., it wilts faster than you would like. Therefore, you should never fall in love with your strategy for too long in a fast-changing industry. Strategic insight depends on both hindsight (understanding from past experience) and foresight (anticipating a range of possible futures), and benefits from diverse perspectives in both timezones.
